Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu would consider a return to Spain with Valencia, according to compatriot Sergio Canales.
Canales, who currently plays for Valencia, told Superdeporte: "I have spoken to Oriol and I say sincerely that he is very taken by the option of Valencia. The squad is perfect for a player to progress."
The news follows Chelsea's signings of Dutch sensation Marco van Ginkel and reported interest in Roma's Daniele De Rossi, both of whom play in midfield.
This would make it increasingly difficult for Romeu to break into the first team, therefore it is believed that Chelsea are willing to let him leave on loan.
Valencia are not the only club chasing Romeu, as Celta Vigo are also reportedly interested.
The 21-year-old has featured 22 times during his Chelsea career since signing from Barcelona in 2011; most of those appearances came under former boss Andre Villas-Boas.
However, he fell out of favour under Roberto Di Matteo, while injury limited his opportunities during Rafael Benitez's tenure.
It is believed that Mourinho sees Romeu as dispensable, hence allowing him to leave on loan and pursuing other targets.
