Marquinhos is likely to stay at Roma this summer, despite reported interest from Barcelona, according to his agent.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a stellar first season in the Italian capital and has since been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou.
However, the former Corinthians youngster's representative, Roberto Calenda, has insisted that there have been no talks with any club, with the Giallorossi eager to keep the Brazilian.
"The player has a contract for four season with Roma and he will surely stay," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"There are no negotiations ongoing. It's normal that there are lots of teams interested in him because we're talking about a very talented guy.
"But Roma have not allowed us to talk to anyone."
Calenda also slammed the level of press intrusion into his player's private life after he was pictured in a Rome restaurant.
"Marquinhos was sent home this morning because he had a fever. I went to visit him and we went to the restaurant in front of his house because he had nothing to eat at home.
"Roma know everything, but unfortunately there are people who take pictures without knowing things and you cannot have a private life."

Bojan Krikic joins Ajax on loan
Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic will spend the next season on loan at Dutch club Ajax, the Primera Division club have confirmed.
Bojan, 22, spent two consecutive years on loan in Italy with Roma and AC Milan but he struggled for game time at San Siro and managed only three league goals.
A statement published on Barcelona’s Webiste (www.fcbarcelona.com) read: “FC Barcelona and Ajax Amsterdam have reached agreement for the loan of Bojan Krkic to the Dutch club for the 2013-14 season.
“The Catalan striker – who will be 23 this August, will play under ex-Barca man Frank de Boer, who led Ajax to the Dutch title last season to guarantee a place in next year’s Champions League.”
Bojan made his first-team debut for Barcelona under another Dutchman, Frank Rijkaard, in 2007 and scored 26 league goals in four seasons before heading to Rome to reunite with former Barcelona youth team manager Luis Enrique, who coached AS Roma for a single campaign.
Roma set to beat Manchester United to Strootman
Italian side AS Roma are set to beat Manchester United in the race to sign PSV midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The hard-working Dutch international midfielder has been linked with Manchester United to become the long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, but according to the Daily Express, United are set to be bested by the Italian capital club.
Manchester United are closing in on Spain’s Thiago Alcantara and maybe that’s the reason why David Moyes cooled off his interest for Strootman, who was a favourite to become Moyes’ first signing at United; however, Roma new boss Rudi Garcia stepped up his bid and is expected to land the Dutchman.
Tottenham Target £20m Rated Roma Midfielder Pjanic.
Tottenham have identified Roma attacking midfielder Miralem Pjanic as their top transfer target this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The 23-year old Bosnian midfielder has been scouted numerous times by Tottenham this past season, and manager Andre Villas-Boas is belived to be readying a bid of £20million for the talented midfielder, even though Spurs have secured the signing of £17million-rated midfielder Paulinho earlier this week.
Pjanic has also been linked with Arsenal in the past, and in the summer of 2011, agreed to a transfer to the Emirates, however, his father gave his word to AS Roma that his son would join them that same window, and out of respect to his father, Pjanic made the move to Roma, not Arsenal, on deadline day August 2011.
Barcelona are to rival Tottenham for the signing of Pjanic this summer, and the Roma playmaker is aware of their interest in him. “It’s true, Barcelona are tracking me and enquired about my situation with my club.” He stated earlier this year, but he admits he is happy at Roma and has no plans to leave, but the allure of the Premier League may tempt him away from Italy.
Spurs have already secured Paulinho this summer, and are looking to add Pjanic, as well as Antonio Candreva from Udinese this summer, bolstering their already crowed midfield as they prepare for a Champions League challenge.

Nani’s future at United is currently up in the air with the 26-year-old believed to be considering a move away after failing to receive assurances over playing time.
Real Madrid, Juventus and even United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal have been linked with bids for the winger, but Roma have now emerged as a more likely option.
And according to his agent, Nani could well end up signing for them this summer.
‘Nani is a good player – the whole world knows it,’ Mendes told Radio Mana.
‘Serie A is one of the best leagues in the world and Rome is a beautiful city. There is the possibility that he will leave United, but at the minute nothing is concrete.
‘We will meet Manchester United and see, but there is interest.’
Nani is already believed to have spoken to new manager David Moyes to discuss his role, but was told he will not be guaranteed regular match action.
The former Sporting Lisbon ace has just 12 months left on his current contract, and has previously indicated he will not be penning a new deal at Old Trafford.
Galatasaray looked like bagging Nani last month but refused to meet United’s £8.5million price tag. [Source : Metro]
