Everton have made the signing of Arouna Kone from Wigan.

Everton have signed striker Arouna Kone from Wigan Athletic, with manager Roberto Martinez swooping on his former club to make his first signing at the Premier League side.

Everton say the Ivory Coast international has joined on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old Kone scored 13 goals for Martinez at Wigan last season as the team was relegated from the Premier League.

Martinez was hired by Everton after David Moyes replaced Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Norwich City striker Grant Holt on the verge of signing for Wigan Athletic for £2million

Grant Holt will have a medical at Wigan after a fee was agreed a £4million fee for the 32-year-old Norwich striker, according to BBC Cumbria.

Holt would become Owen Coyle's seventh summer signing, joined the Canaries from Shrewsbury in 2009, and scored eight goals in 38 appearances last season.The initial fee could rise if Wigan were to get promoted this season.

The Latics signed former West Bromwich Albion and Celtic striker Marc-Antoine Fortune on Friday.

Fortune's former West Brom team-mate, goalkeeper Scott Carson, completed his move from Bursaspor to the FA Cup winners on Thursday, as Coyle looks to rebuild a side looking to regain their top-flight status.

James Perch, Chris McCann, Stephen Crainey and Thomas Rogne have also recently agreed moves to the DW Stadium.

Norwich were in League One when Holt signed from Shrewsbury and was a key member as the Canaries secured back-to-back promotions.
