According to Daily Mirror and Sportskeeda, 4 Premier League clubs are willing to sign Sadio Mane from Red Bull Salzburg. The clubs are said to be Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle, Tottenham and Everton.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle and Everton are all targeting Red Bull Salzburg winger Sadio Mané.

 The Senegalese midfielder signed for Red Bull Salzburg in 2012 and has score 25 goals in 45 appearances.

Rumours: Eden Hazard to join PSG this summer

Manchester City agree €27 million fee with Fiorentina for Jovetic

Manchester City have agreed a €27 million plus add-ons deal with Fiorentina for attacker Stevan Jovetic.

The 23-year-old's agent, Fali Ramadani, is set to travel to Manchester to meet with City sporting director Txiki Begiristain in the next 24 hours, with club officials confident of completing the move following those talks. 

City have agreed to a package that meets Fiorentina's €30m (£26m) asking price, with €27m (£23.3m) set to be paid up front and a further €3m (£2.6m) to be paid in performance-related bonuses. 

Jovetic visited the Fanfani Medical Centre in Florence for tests on Monday, accompanied by the Serie A side's doctor, Jacopo Giuliattini. 

City, who have sent a large group of staff to South Africa as part of their pre-season tour, also conducted similar assessments on Jesus Navas in Seville before his €21m move to the Etihad Stadium in June. 

Jovetic was later followed by Mario Gomez, who is set to complete his transfer from Bayern Munich to the Florence outfit imminently. 

Ramadani met with Begiristain at Mottram Hall last week to discuss terms, with City set to pay Jovetic an £80,000-a-week salary package on arrival in Manchester. 

The clubs have maintained a good relationship harboured following Stefan Savic's move from Manchester to Fiorentina last summer.

City are set for disappointment with regards to Alvaro Negredo, however, whom they had hoped to secure in a double swoop alongisde Jovetic. The Sevilla attacker is rated as having a "one per cent" chance of joining Manuel Pellegrini's side by the Spanish club's president, Jose Maria del Nido.

Gerrard signs Liverpool contract extension

Liverpool veteran Steven Gerrard has signed a contract extension with a view to ending his career at Anfield.

The Reds icon, 33 years old, is set to enter his 16th season in professional football with the Reds in 2013-14.

"I think everyone knows what it means to me," Gerrard told the club's official website. "I've been here that long and so, to extend, it's a big day for me and I'm really happy for myself and my family. It's great news.

"It lets me know the club thinks an awful lot of me and want me here.

"I'm glad it's all done and it's happened at the right time before the season, so I can just focus on playing as well as I can."

Managing director Ian Ayre is delighted to have secured the Anfield hero's future for what he hopes will be "until the end of his career", adding: "It's fantastic for everyone - the club, Steven and the fans.

"He is - and always has been - such a big part of Liverpool. Particularly in this day and age, it's rather unique to find a local player who has given his whole career to his club.

"We're pleased today to add an extension to his existing agreement and that keeps him here until the end of his career.

"We've said what we'll do in two years' time is review it again and see how happy Steven is. We seem to always be happy with him, so hopefully we'll just continue in that vein."

De Boer opens door to Eriksen exit

Ajax coach Frank de Boer has admitted he would not prevent Christian Eriksen from leaving the club this summer.

The Danish playmaker, who has just one year left on his contract at the Amsterdam Arena has been heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool amongst others.

And De Boer says he would let the 21-year-old move to Anfield if he chose to do so. 

"It is up to Christian what he wants," the Dutchman told reporters.

"If he feels good going to Liverpool, then it is up to him. I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.

"But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can't stop him."

Eriksen first moved to Ajax as a teenager back in 2008.

Supersport United 2-0 Manchester City: Pellegrini suffers defeat in first game in charge

Manuel Pellegrini got off to the worst possible start in his first game in charge of Manchester City as his side were beaten 2-0 by Supersport United in Sunday's pre-season friendly.

Mame Niang and Kermit Erasmus were the heroes for Supersport, as two second-half goals past Costel Pantilimon were enough to see off the Premier League heavyweights.

The friendly encounter at the Loftus Versfeld stadium saw Fernandinho make his City bow, while the likes of skipper Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri, Gareth Barry and Edin Dzeko all also started in Pretoria.

And the visitors started brightly, as Dzeko forced Ronwen Williams into a decent save just two minutes in after the Bosnia and Herzegovina international capitalised on a poor clearance from the Supersport United goalkeeper.

Joe Hart was then called into action as the England No.1 charged out to thwart Ramahlwe Mphahlele when the midfielder attempted to poke an effort goalwards.

Without looking particularly threatening going forward, City again came close to opening the scoring after 16 minutes as Alexsandar Kolarov, starting at left-back, broke and linked up well with Dzeko before stabbing a shot wide of Williams's left-hand post  as he stumbled to the ground under challenge.

Dzeko then squandered another opportunity as he again failed to beat Williams before Supersport broke down the other end, with Sameehg Doutie rampaging down the right and pulling the ball across to force Micah Richards to head clear from in front of the goalline.

Pellegrini rang the changes at half-time, introducing an entirely different XI for the second half as the likes of Yaya Toure, Joleon Lescott, Scott Sinclair and James Milner all came on to get their first taste of pre-season action.

But it was Supersport who took the lead early in the second period as Niang climbed above Matija Nastasic to meet a delicious cross from the left and head past Hart's half-time replacement, Pantilimon.

Young midfielder Emyr Huws perhaps should have done better after 67 minutes as he dragged an effort wide before Supersport defender Danleigh Borman was in the right place at the right time to scramble Milner's shot off the line, despite a hint of handball.

Toure then got his first sight of goal but could only blaze over the top with a shot from distance as City struggled to trouble replacement goalkeeper Boalefa Pule in the Supersport goal.

Pellegrini's first game in charge went from bad to worse with just nine minutes remaining as Erasmusraced through past a static Dedryck Boyata and slotted home to make it 2-0 to the hosts.

Norwich City sign Leroy Fer from FC Twente

    Norwich City have signed Netherlands international midfielder Leroy Fer from FC Twente for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old has agreed a four-year deal and joins compatriot Ricky van Wolfswinkel among the six new arrivals at Carrow Road this summer.

Fer scored 21 goals in 71 appearances for Twente following a move from Feyenoord in 2011.
"He's a very versatile Dutch international," manager Chris Hughton told the club website.

Moyes doesn't want risking Rooney on tour

Manchester United manager David Moyes said there was no point in risking Wayne Rooney on the team's tour of the Far East, which is why the injured striker was returning home just hours after arriving in Bangkok.

"We won't take any chances, there is no point in taking him any further around the world," Moyes told Manchester United TV from the Thai capital, explaining that Rooney suffered the injury before leaving England."

"The day we left, he just felt his hamstring tighten up right at the end of training and we thought there would be no problem," the Scot added.

"But after the long flight, we decided we'd get him tested and scanned and have a look at things and there is just a small grade one injury there.

"He didn't train yesterday. We won't take any chances - there is no point in taking him any further round the world so we've sent him back [for treatment]."

The 27-year-old faces a month on the sidelines after suffering the injury and is doubtful for the Community Shield against FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic at Wembley on August 11 and England's friendly against Scotland three days later.

United begin their Premier League title defence at Swansea City on August 17.

Rooney has been the subject of transfer speculation since retired United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said at the end of last season the England forward had asked to leave the club.

However, Moyes reiterated on Wednesday the striker was not for sale and would not be leaving Old Trafford.

United open their tour against a Singha All-Star XI in Bangkok on Saturday and will also play in Sydney, Yokohama, Osaka and Hong Kong before facing AIK in Stockholm on August 6.

They have left Manchester without captain Nemanja Vidic, who is struggling with sciatica. The club said it was not serious and expected the Serbia centre-back to join them at some point.

Liverpool gunning for the top four - Coutinho

Coutinho insists last season's impressive finish to the Premier League season has left Liverpool feeling confident of mounting a top-four challenge this term.

Brendan Rodgers' men lost just one of their last 16 matches in the league campaign, with the Brazilian No.10 and fellow January signing Daniel Sturridge at the heart of the revival.

And Coutinho is adamant this form means the Merseysiders will head into the new season full of belief in their ability to return Champions League football to Anfield.

"Some new players have arrived to help us and the team finished well last year, so we hope to be able to finish within the top four," he told the club's official website.

"That's what we have always fought for, but we should think on a game-by-game basis because the competition is very long and we have to sustain good performances throughout the whole season."

Coutinho wowed the Anfield faithful with some dazzling trickery and vision last season, and the 21-year-old revealed the secret of his success is his laid back nature on the pitch.

"I always try to be relaxed, always play football and enjoy myself because what I like doing most is to play football, so I'm not concerned with pressure or such things," he added.

"I just try to enjoy myself on the field and always do my best to help the team.

"I'll work as hard as I've always done, always trying to improve each day as much as I can and always trying to learn from the more experienced players and the manager. Always working hard is what is most important."

Wenger reveals positive Arsenal contract talks

Arsene Wenger says he has held positive talks over extending his contract with Arsenal.

Goal reported in June that the 63-year-old has already held preliminary talks with the club's officials regarding an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2014.

Wenger confirmed negotiations have taken place with Arsenal's chief executive Ivan Gazidis but insists his position will come under threat if the club fail to progress next season.

“The talks went well and it’s not a problem. But I will not use my longevity as an advantage to stay in this position if I don’t do well," Wenger told reporters.

“My future will depend on how well I do. I don’t just assume I will always be here.

“I’ve always shown my loyalty to this club and I don’t need to prove anything on that. But I want to do well for Arsenal so this is an important season for me.”

Wenger also played down reports which claimed he was keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, before the French champions appointed Laurent Blanc as their successor to Carlo Ancelotti.

“People are always linking me with PSG because I am French and I know the owners," he said.

“But if I wanted to go to PSG I would be there already. I’m not because my heart is with Arsenal and they are always my priority."

Mobbed Moyes feels like he has joined The Beatles

David Moyes felt like he was travelling with The Beatles when he arrived here.

The enormity of Manchester United and their worldwide following hit home for the new boss when the team touched down for the first leg of their pre-season tour in Thailand.

And Moyes said: “We arrived at the airport and I heard screaming young ladies. I don’t think it was at me!

“The amount of people who were at the airport was incredible and the excitement when we arrived was like The Beatles — it was something else.

“There are fans in and outside the hotel and everywhere we go. It just shows the power of United. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to it!

“It was an incredible welcome and we were then taken to pay our respects to the King who is in hospital.

“It was pandemonium when we got there. I’ve not been surprised but the scale of things has been fantastic.”

The Scot added: “When I first got the job I was aware my first game would be in Thailand.

“You see the amount of Manchester United supporters in Thailand so I’m looking forward to being here and, hopefully it’s just the first of many games as manager.”

Moyes can hardly keep the smile off his face right now and a lot of that is down to the men he is managing.

He said: “I’m really excited but I’m more excited about the players I’m working with.

“They’d lift any coach but they’ve certainly lifted me because I see the ability, their professionalism and their commitment to be winners.

“Every training game we play they want to win and I think that says something about Manchester United players and their attitude.”

Moyes does not have his full squad out here. As well as Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling (foot), Ashley Young (ankle) and Nani (broken nose) have all been left behind while club captain Nemanja Vidic has sciatica. Moyes said: “He’s doing fine. He’s having a course of injections in his back and if he improves we would consider bringing him out later on.

“But the one thing we don’t want to do is make it any worse by flying him a long way around the world.

“Nani had an operation on his nose to clear some breathing. At the moment I’m not sure if flying is allowed so that’s the one down side.

“What it’s going to do is give some young players an opportunity.”

Rio Ferdinand revealed new boss Moyes has stepped up training already.

The defender, 34, said: “I think the intensity has gone up.

“As the new manager comes in the players want to impress the new coaching staff — but it has been very hard.”

Norwich City set to sign FC Twente and Holland midfielder Leroy Fer

Chris Hughton is set to complete a £4.5 million deal for FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer in the next 48 hours.

Hughton, the Norwich City manager, expects to seal the signing of Fer this weekend, in time for the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

Norwich fly out to the USA on Monday and will put the finishing touches to the transfer on Saturday, with a five-year deal on the table for the 23-year-old.

Fer, a Holland international, almost joined Everton in January but the move was abandoned due to complications with his medical.

Hughton has been one of the most active managers in this summer's transfer window, signing Birmingham winger Nathan Redmond and Blackburn defender Martin Olsson in the past seven days.

Javier Garrido has also arrived from Lazio while a club record £8.5 million was paid for forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Tottenham Hotspur set to offer Aston Villa £20 million for Benteke

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is expected to make the first move in his bid to sign the Belgium international by submitting a formal offer, in a clear attempt to test the resolve of Aston Villa chairman Randy Lerner.

Though Villa are insistent that any bids under £25 million will be instantly rejected, Spurs are confident of completing a deal for Benteke and believe the price tag placed on the 22-year-old is unrealistic.

Villa have made it clear that only a straight cash offer will be considered and they are not interested in any Spurs players as part of the deal, but Villas-Boas has the backing of chairman Daniel Levy to kick off what is certain to be a bitter battle to prise the forward from Lerner.

Spurs are prepared to offer Benteke around £70,000 a week – a significant increase on his current salary at Villa Park – and can promise him first-team football, with Emmanuel Adebayor set to be sold before the start of the season.

But Lerner is believed to be in combative mood over the future of Benteke, who stunned Villa manager Paul Lambert on Monday by handing in a transfer request.

Fulham agree sale to the Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan

NFL franchise owner Shahid Khan has completed a deal to buy Fulham, ending Mohamed Al Fayed's 16 years at the helm.

The Jacksonville Jaguars chief, a billionaire car parts manufacturer, was confirmed as the Cottagers' new owner on Friday evening after the Premier League approved the takeover.

Al Fayed, who is understood to have conducted extensive talks with Khan's camp amid much secrecy, is due to speak to the media at 1pm on Saturday.

A statement on Fulham's official website read: "Mohamed Al Fayed has sold Fulham Football Club to Shahid Khan, the CEO of Flex-N-Gate Group and owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League in the United States.

"The transaction has been approved by the Barclays Premier League. Khan assumes 100 per cent ownership of the club, debt-free, as of today."

The development stands to significantly boost Fulham's spending power, with Khan thought to be twice as wealthy as 84-year-old Al Fayed.

The Pakistan-born 62-year-old, who moved to America as a teenager, is ranked 179th in the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans with an estimated worth of £1.65 billion.

He already has ties to London, with the Jaguars scheduled to play one NFL regular season game a season at Wembley for the next four years.

"(Mohamed Al Fayed) is giving me the privilege and responsibility of serving as the next custodian of Fulham Football Club," Khan said.

"I am extremely honoured to accept and want to thank him, on behalf of everyone who loves Fulham, for 16 years of exceptional service to the club. Mr Al Fayed rescued the club in its hour of need and has led it to a sustained place within the Premier League.

"Fulham is the perfect club at the perfect time for me. My priority is to ensure the club and Craven Cottage each have a viable and sustainable Premier League future that fans of present and future generations can be proud of."

Al Fayed, who converted previous loans into equity earlier this year, said: "My time of serving as the custodian of Fulham Football Club would one day come to an end, and I feel that time has now arrived.

"The time is right because I have found a very good man in Shahid Khan to accept the responsibility and privilege that I have enjoyed at Fulham since 1997. Fulham will be in very good hands."

Al Fayed transformed Fulham from a third-tier side to an established Premier League club during his tenure. Fulham reached the Europa League final three years ago and last season finished 12th in the league under the guidance of Martin Jol.

Cardiff waiting on decision from Blackpool's Tom Ince

Cardiff City are hoping to discover on Friday whether they have been successful in their pursuit of Blackpool's Tom Ince.

The Bluebirds have made the England U21 international a top target this summer as they prepare for life among the Premier League elite.

They have already seen an offer for the 21-year-old forward accepted by Blackpool, and have agreed terms on a transfer.

All that they require now is the go-ahead from Ince to push a deal through.

Cardiff boss Malky Mackay believes a decision is close and hopes to be in a position to welcome another fresh face into his ranks inside the next 24 hours.

He said: "We've had a bid accepted by Blackpool. We've agreed terms with the agent.

"Tom and his dad were both on holiday and on a professional course at the time, so Monday was the earliest they could get down to us. We had a good chat, a cup of tea and a biscuit and a look about the place.

"Tom said the last couple of days he had a domestic issue to deal with, but Friday morning the ball's in their court and on Friday morning we'll have a decision one way or another."

Asked whether he felt Ince was keen on a switch to south Wales, Mackay added: "I can only say from the chat we had, we had a very amicable, friendly chat and they asked me a lot of questions about where his career could go forward, where I see him in terms of the type of player he is and what's going on here.

"After that, then that's probably something for him and his family to decide.

"He was certainly very impressed by the stadium, training ground and the city in general during our conversation and the plans for Cardiff City going forward."
